General Information about weekly training

Select Team Official Training Start Dates

• All U9-17 Girls Select teams start training on Tuesday, January 28. Training will then be Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
• All U13-18 Boys teams start training on Tuesday, January 28. Training will then be Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
• All U8-12 Boys/Mixed Select Teams start training on Wednesday, January 29. Training will then be Monday and Wednesday evenings.
• Timing of training for each team can be found here >> In addition, select teams partake in the below specialist sessions on training nights.

Specialist Sessions

• Specialist Sessions include Skills Sessions and Strength and Conditioning Sessions and Goal Keeper Coaching.
  These sessions will begin in Week 2 as per the schedule below. Please note that for some teams, this will occur directly prior to or directly following training. For other teams, it will occur inside the regular training timeslot. See the schedule of specialist sessions below.

• PHFC Skills Academy is available on Thursdays for any U6-12 player during Term 1, 2 and 3 ($60 per term- 8 sessions per term). Click here for more details >>

Pre-season 2025- Key dates

Practice Matches

• Sunday February 23- U13-18 Practice games vs Bardon (Venue and Times TBA)

• Sunday March 2- North Star Academy Challenge Carnival- All U8-12 Boys select teams will be entered (8am- 2pm). 

• Saturday March 8- U8-12 Internal Practice Games (At PHFC, 8am, 9am or 10am)

• March 9- U13 Grading games commence and then continue to run each Sunday in March

• March 9- U14-18 First fixture. Season commences, with games mostly played on Sundays.

• Saturday March 15- U8-12 Practice Games vs Virginia (Times and Venue TBC).

• Saturday March 22- U8-12 Practice games vs Bardon (Times and Venue TBC).

• Saturday March 29- PHFC U6-12 Season Launch. Internal Practice Games for all U6-12 teams. (Times TBC)

• No other training during school holidays (April 5 - April 20).

• Training recommences on Monday April 21.

• The season for U6-12 teams will begin officially on April 26.

For Coaches

• Thursday March 6- 6pm-8pm- Miniroos Coaching Certificate (for all coaches of U6-12 teams who have not completed this course prior). Register here >>

• Foundation of Football Coaching Certificate- Multiple dates throughout January and February (for Select team coaches of U8-18 who have completed the Miniroos course prior). Register here >>

• C Diploma Coaching Course - Multiple dates throughout January and February (for coaches of U8-12 Select Teams who have completed the Foundation of Football course prior). Register here >>

• Saturday March 29- PHFC U6-12 Season Launch. Internal Practice Games for all U6-12 teams.

ADVANCED DEVELOPMENT CAMP with new Technical Director, John Sowter (FFA A License Coach), available to 2025 PHFC Select Team players only

January 22-23 (8AM-11AM) U8-9 BOYS

January 22-23 (3:30-6:30PM) U14-18 BOYS

January 24-25 (3:30-6:30PM) U12-13 BOYS

Each day program will consist of two Technical Development Sessions and one Strength and Conditioning Session. This will be a great kick start to the 2025 season for our Select Team players.

This program will be led by PHFC Technical Director John Sowter, and will also feature PHFC Strength & Conditioning coach Ryan Fisher, and PHFC Technical Development Coaches Kevin Crawford and Jason Tomins.

$50 for one day, or $90 for both days.
